Late summer is the best.

I made a salad of shaved late-summer vegetables to prove it: easter-egg radishes, kohlrabi, cucumber, soft herbs, a boiled egg and simple citronette. Refreshing, with hops between mild and spicy; served with roasted sweet potatoes drizzled with maple syrup, the meal was perfect late summer fare: warm & sweet, cool and fresh.
